Matthew 26:35-36 “For I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked, and you clothed me; I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.”

House of Stephen is social outreach program through which House of Faith Christian Centre gives back to the community. We aim to touch and help address some of the socio-economic challenges faced by our surrounding communities. As per our Lord Jesus’ mandate we aim to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and minister to those who need comfort.  Our long-term aim is to establish full-time staff that will deal on a daily basis with needs to the community.

The following is our 5 year plan for touching our community:

Short Term Goals: 2011

• Offer blankets to under privileged homes.
• Develop a database of homes and poverty stricken families in the church and outside.
• Visit homes bi-monthly; i.e. families, orphanages and special care homes.
• Collection and distribution clothes, food, and hygiene care items, on a monthly basis.
• Consolidate Grocery stores sponsorships.
• Cleaning project for the home identified in Diepsloot and Ebony Park.

Medium Term Goals: 2012 to 2014

• Empower people from church who are needy by helping to find them jobs, funding for school fees and school uniform including stationary, funding for tertiary education.
• Empower people without general skills (nanny, garden services, security and safety training, home care, respect)
• Open recruitment agency for home skills (nanny, garden services, home care).
• Open Health Care Chapter.
• Open Social Care Services Chapter.
• Commence Publication of a House of Stephen Quarterly Brochure.

Long Term Goals: 2015 to 2018

• Own home and house the under privileged (orphans, lost etc).
• Open a fully equipped Rehabilitation Service Centre.
• Have onboard dedicated/stable sponsors.
• Dedicated full time medical practitioners (nurses, doctors, social workers).
• Open a full time Crèche and School.
